With the support of Sun Group and Visa, Vietnam’s tourism sector is beginning its comprehensive digital transformation journey, powered by Visit Vietnam.

Data and AI to shape Vietnam’s tourism future in 2026

At a recent strategic conference, the national digital tourism platform Visit Vietnam officially unveiled its early-stage version. More than just an information app, it is positioned as a “unified data infrastructure” where the Government, businesses, and travelers can interact within a transparent digital ecosystem.

When data becomes the “heart” of governance

Unlike traditional management methods, Visit Vietnam operates on a real-time data map. According to Sun Group, the platform enables authorities to closely monitor the capacity of each destination, regulate visitor flows, and proactively identify operational risks.

Colonel Ha Nam Trung, Deputy Director of the National Data Center, emphasized:

“We are building a data ecosystem where every ministry and business can participate and benefit. Tourism will be the pioneering sector to deliver tangible results from this digital transformation.”

The power of “live data”

Visit Vietnam’s unique advantage lies in Sun Group’s nationwide network of destinations. By integrating real-world data from entertainment, hospitality, and transportation infrastructure, the platform has created a vast repository of “live data.”

Notably, the participation of Visa as a strategic partner in international payment data helps the platform meet global security standards. Manideep Gupta, Visa’s Regional Vice President for Asia-Pacific, noted that analyzing spending behavior and seasonal trends will enable Vietnamese businesses to identify high-value target markets and optimize both marketing and product strategies.

A breakthrough in traveler experience: the AI travel assistant

From a user perspective, Visit Vietnam functions as an AI-powered travel assistant. With access to accurate and comprehensive data, the AI can support travelers throughout their journey, from suggesting personalized itineraries to assisting in real-time situations.

Completing the “contactless” experience is the digital payment solution from NCB Bank. CEO Ta Kieu Hung highlighted a shift from transactions to experiences, stating:

“Payments will become a national competitive advantage.”

With the integrated iziPay solution, international travelers can book services and complete payments seamlessly within seconds.

Ready for the digital era in Q2 2026

The strategic partnership signing between Sun Group and Visa at the event marks a strong commitment toward official operations in Q2 2026.

Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), commented:

“Visit Vietnam is not just a data platform, but a shift in development mindset. When data and AI become the foundation, Vietnam’s tourism industry will strengthen its competitiveness and move closer to becoming a leading destination in the region.”

With strong alignment among leading industry players and support from the Government, Visit Vietnam is expected to open a new chapter for Vietnam’s key economic sector, where technology serves people and drives sustainable value.
