Following the successful launch of its pilot version, the national digital tourism platform “Visit Vietnam” is emerging as a key focal point for the tourism industry in 2026. What was once a visionary project has now evolved into a data backbone, bringing to life the smart tourism model that Vietnam has pursued for years.

From vision to execution

After its initial debut in late 2025, Visit Vietnam is now gearing up for its official launch in 2026. Backed by the Government, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) and the National Data Association (NDA), and operated by Sun Group, the platform is demonstrating its ability to reshape the tourism landscape through real-time data.

In the past, understanding market dynamics relied heavily on periodic reports with significant delays. Today, Visit Vietnam enables stakeholders to monitor developments in real time, from crowd density at destinations like Phu Quoc and Da Nang to spending trends among international visitors. All of this is displayed transparently through an intelligent dashboard system.

A multi-source ecosystem: The power of strategic alliances

The strength of Visit Vietnam in 2026 lies in its extensive partner network. Beyond simply aggregating information, the platform has established a robust “data alliance”:

  • Behavioral and payment data: In partnership with Visa, the platform provides deep insights into international travelers’ spending habits through global payment solutions and privileges.
  • Financial infrastructure: NCB Bank, along with technology partners, enables seamless payment processes, allowing travelers to access services with just one tap.
  • Local product ecosystem: Sun Group plays a central role by contributing a high-quality portfolio of services, from accommodation and entertainment to transportation infrastructure, enriching the platform’s real-world data.

Personalizing travel experiences with AI

One of Visit Vietnam’s most notable highlights in 2026 is its personalized AI travel assistant. Moving beyond generic itineraries, travelers can now explore Vietnam in a more refined, locally authentic way, with tailored recommendations designed around individual preferences.

At major events such as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026, Visit Vietnam acts as an official information and coordination hub, enabling visitors to easily access schedules and book tickets. This contributes to a more seamless and connected festival experience.

Toward a major expansion by year-end

According to its roadmap, following its operational rollout this summer, Visit Vietnam will enter its commercial launch phase by the end of 2026. This marks a critical step toward transforming the platform into a sustainable revenue engine for Vietnam’s tourism ecosystem, from large corporations to local travel operators.

The rise of Visit Vietnam is not just the story of a technology platform. It reflects Vietnam’s broader ambition to take ownership of the digital era, positioning data as a new growth driver for one of the country’s most important economic sectors.
